This past February, at the Manhattan Pavilion, Camino Productions NYC screened a ten-minute trailer of Unguarded on the opening night of the New York Encounter, an annual three-day cultural event sponsored by Communion and Liberation. The screening was enthusiastically received and provoked animated discussions throughout the weekend. Patrick Tomassi, a high school science and math teacher in Portland, Oregon (and co-host of the Pop-Culture Pelican podcast), attended the Encounter and covered the opening night program for the CL newsletter. Check out his brief interview with Unguarded's director, Simonetta d'Italia-Wiener:

In this time of division and negativity, the story of the APAC prisons is like a miracle, a testament to the reality of faith and charity in the world. What's also inspiring is the artful simplicity of the filmmaking, evident even in this short trailer. The humanity of the subjects radiates forth with a transparency and power that is absolutely convincing. Even the most hardened cynic will be moved.
